A public speaking workshop
18 August 2026
On 17 and 18 August, participants of the Ken Zhurek Myn Bala project spent two days at a public speaking workshop. The sessions were led by Abai Asylkhan.
The children worked on how to hold themselves in front of an audience and put a thought clearly. They spent time on the voice and on reading the room. They also got to the fear of speaking, the very fear that makes it hard to begin.
The format was hands-on. There was almost no sitting and listening: the children went up to the audience themselves, tried the role of a speaker and learned to get an idea across so people understood it.
Great thanks to Abai Asylkhan for his professionalism, openness and the time he gave our children. After sessions like these, the participants carry themselves with more confidence, and stepping in front of people no longer feels so frightening.
Ken Zhurek Myn Bala is a chance to get support and, at the same time, to discover new abilities in yourself.
